Prohibition Liquor Co.

A new South Australian distiller of quality Gin, handmade with authentic clandestine heritage

Prohibition Liquor Co. is an Australian distillery based in Adelaide that specializes in handmade small batch craft gin.

Named after the Prohibition era in Australia, when the drinking of alcohol was banned, a new underground community arose to give people what they wanted. Gin. This gave birth to a generation of bootleg spirit makers, and Prohibition Liquor Co. lives the Prohibition spirit one hundred years later today.
Prohibition Liquor Co. sees their small-batch craftsmanship as the same as that of bootleggers of old, but it is their artisan philosophy and obsession with the finest botanicals that help them create premium quality crafts.

While the distillery has various gin products, their main highlight is the signature Prohibition Gin, a blend with wormwood, a banned substance during the Prohibition; blood orange; and ruby red grapefruit. These ingredients are used to take the usual juniper, ginger root, and coriander from the standard gin taste.

Aside from selling gin products, Prohibition Liquor Co. also operates a tasting room experience which they call a “city cellar door” for spirits from Thursday to Sunday for customers to sample different artisan spirits from all over Australia, including all PLC products, and PLC only releases. You will also get to see “Mary”, the company’s copper pot still, the only one in Adelaide.
