Furneaux Distillery

An untamed gin, like no other

Furneaux Distillery was built by no-fuss farmers, growers and producers with a passion for gin and liqueurs. Founded in Bass Strait, in the north-eastern part of Tasmania in Flinders Island, Furneaux Distillery promises you raw, pure and untouched basics from their food to their liqueurs. Enjoy the quiet shores, beautiful clear waters, and the best produce this side of Australia. Not only do they grow everything in their pantry, their food and liqueurs are made from the same high-quality produce.

Their gin uses Tasmanian malt barley, purified rainwater, and a native local peat with a rich and earthy aroma. Not to mention, it also happens to be a sustainable resource, which spends most of its lifespan submerged in saltwater lakes along the east coast of Flinders Island. The gin is finally topped off at Flinders Wharf, where the barley is smoked with peats in a malt kiln, then finally bottled for distribution. All of this is handmade by the local growers and farmers. Their seasonal knowledge and passionate work brings an air of humble tradition to every bottle of gin. If you ever find yourself around Flinders Wharf, you should definitely visit the distillery to see the magic for yourself.
